IDÉ House of Brands in Oslo has launched a collection of sports- and leisurewear carrying the bluesign product label, meaning the items meet strict safety and environmental requirements.
IDÉ House of Brands, a privately owned promo supplier in Oslo, Norway, has launched a collection of bluesign-labeled products, through its sports and leisure brand iwear.
The styles, made from 100% bluesign-approved fabrics, meet strict safety and environmental requirements and are produced in a resource-conserving way, with reduced impact on people and the environment, according to bluesign.
“We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continuously improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy,” said Lasse Lauritzen, founder and chairman of IDÉ House of Brands. “Becoming a bluesign System Partner was a natural step forward in our sustainability efforts.”
He added that joining bluesign’s network gave the company tools and support to take control of its supply chain’s environmental impact and pushed the company to set higher standards for product safety.
“We’re thrilled to see many of our partners follow suit,” he said. “Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for the entire industry.”
Arriving with the supplier’s autumn/winter 2024 collection, the new iwear items will be the first to carry the bluesign product label. According to bluesign, the product launch also marks a significant milestone in the promotional products industry’s adoption of clean chemical management practices.
“IDÉ House of Brands is setting a strong example of how companies can lead by action in the promotional products industry,” said Daniel Rüfenacht, CEO of bluesign. “By introducing bluesign products and integrating bluesign-approved fabrics into their iwear collection, they are demonstrating that responsible productions and high-quality products can go hand in hand.”
The bluesign system for sustainable textile production works to eliminate harmful substances from the start of the manufacturing process, setting and controlling standards for environmentally friendly and safe production. Since its founding in 2000, bluesign has partnered with more than 850 manufacturers, brand and chemical suppliers worldwide. The sustainable chemistry watchdog has been gaining traction in the promo industry in recent years. Last month, Counselor Top 40 supplier SanMar (asi/84863) and supplier Storm Creek (asi/89879) both announced that they had joined bluesign as System Partners.
